The Manager of Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) partners with the architecture, engineering, product, project, and development teams to implement and drive best practices in DevSecOps-related technologies, capabilities, and behaviors within DevSecOps. This individual is responsible for our on-prem and cloud-based DevSecOps strategy and will create efficiencies and automation within day-to-day operations and deliver code through non-production and production environments by way of standard practices, tools, and automation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (not limited to)

• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate security best practices into the Agile methodology and CI/CD pipelines
• Implement security controls, and security scanning tools to detect and mitigate security vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, and infrastructure
• Drive strategies for on-prem, cloud-based and Hybrid DevSecOps
• Create efficiencies and automation within day-to-day operations
• Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
• Deliver code through development and production environments by way of standard practices, tools, and automation
• Encourage a healthy work culture and environment by modeling positive, client-driven characteristics
• Mentor team members to grow skill and prepare for future growth with the company
• Introduce innovative technologies to the environment as appropriate
• Design reusable platforms, web infrastructure and open source
• Investigate technologies and recommend solutions to meet growing company needs
• Overseeing DevSecOps team and providing the necessary support to leads and their team members to ensure that each application have high availability/uptime and meets business need
• Leads by example and reinforces team approach both on client projects and internal initiatives by supporting and soliciting input from team members at all levels within the organization
• Strong understanding of software architecture and the ability to work with lead engineers at a technical level to design flexible, scalable, and secure systems
• Provides technical leadership and expertise about the feature set or domain supported by their team
• Serves as technology advisor to the business on all aspects of software technology trends Stays on the top of the latest technological progress and use this knowledge to ensure company products and software solutions remain marketable and competitive
• Meets regularly with members of the development, network, infrastructure, and database teams to get feedback, support and improve the performance of supported applications
• Promotes sharing of domain expertise and knowledge across the team

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security or similar technical degree (BSCS, BSEE etc)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working through DevSecOps management or related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing software development
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate team members
• Firsthand experience with:
• DevSecOps/Automation, designing reusable platforms, web infrastructure, and open source
• Multiple platform/application administration (Windows, Linux, On-Prem & cloud)
• Monitoring Tools like SolarWinds, New Relic, AppDynamics, SCOM
• Build Automation of tasks and configuration settings to speed up the process and minimize the manual tasks
• Scripting (shell, python, bash or ruby)
• Configuring, Installing, and setting up CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Managing and administering Jenkins environment and pipelines
• Load balancing technologies like F5-BigIP
• Revision control systems like TFS, SVN, GIT
• Strong written and communication skills
• A record of successful maintenance and keeping the environments stable as a lead and or/ manager
• Ability to learn modern technologies quickly, be a dynamic leader, and take on managing innovative technologies and platforms
• Prior experience managing a product and team globally/cross-culturally
• Willingness to travel as needed (negligible but potentially necessary)
• Ability to maintain and work in a remote home office
• Remote/virtual work environment must be free from distractions while performing the essential functions of the job and have a reliable network connection
• Position predominantly includes sitting/standing for long periods, close vision through the use of a computer screen, extensive keyboarding, talking, hearing, and infrequent light physical effort is required (minimum of fifteen pounds)
